SAFARI OVERVIEW:

In this safari itinerary, you will visit all the magnificent falls as well as the coffee plantations that characterize the Fertile Bugisu Region and Mountain Elgon Region. You will thereafter visit the famous Pian Upe wildlife Reserve for the game viewing experience and an encounter with the indigenous Karamojong communities.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer To Sipi Falls

You’ll start your day with an early breakfast at your lodge or hotel, followed by a meet-and-greet with our company representative, who will transfer you to Eastern Uganda. 

Enjoy a scenic drive with a lunch stop at a selected restaurant in Mbale Town, before continuing to Sipi Falls, arriving in the early afternoon.

Upon arrival, you’ll set out on a guided trek to explore the three stunning waterfalls that make up Sipi. The hike follows a network of scenic trails featuring steep and sometimes slippery paths, ladders, small caves, and local farms—especially challenging on rainy days, but incredibly rewarding.

In the evening, you’ll check in for dinner and an overnight stay at Rafiki Safari Lodge, on a full-board basis.

This day, you will depart from the lodge egarly in the morning after breakfast, and well equipped with your packed lunch; ready for an adventurous day. You will set off for Pian Upe wildlife Reserve, one of the most virgin and less explored tourism destinations in the country. You will have a stopover en-route for a brief view of the Elgon Mountain ranges, and thereafter proceed into the wildlife Reserve for the game viewing experience.

Seeral animal species including the Buffaloes, Elands, several antelope species, cheetahs and the wild ostriches may be spotted. You will thereafter visit the local comunities for a cultural experience before proceeding back to Kampala.
