Overview

This 3 days tour takes you to Kibale National Park, a home to several primate species found in the park. This Park is mostly known for its chimpanzee tracking experience.

 This park is also a home to several other primate species that may be spotted. The Bigodi wetlands located adjacent to the park offer guests a rewarding swamp walk accompanied with several birds and primate species that may be encountered.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala-Kibale National Park (06 – 07 Driving hours)

This day you will depart from Kampala to Kibale National park, the drive will take around 6-7hours. This scenic drive will take you through woodlands, tea plantation and beautiful landscaped giving you an opportunity to view the country side. You will have a stopover at Fort Portal town for lunch; thereafter proceed to Kibale Forest Camp for dinner and overnight stay

After breakfast you will go for chimp trekking in the Kibale forest which is also a home to about 12 other primate species. Aside from the chimpanzees, you may encounter several other primate species, a variety of bird species, mammals, butterflies and many more during your trekking experience. Later in the afternoon, you will proceed to the Bigodi wetlands for the birding experience. Several bird species may be spotted during the experience that takes up to about 03 – 04hrs. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

You will start this day with an early morning crater lakes walk. This experience takes you through the local homesteads, several food crops plantations and to the crater lakes with perfect views especially when you get to the famous “top of the world” where you will clearly see the crater lakes, the Rwenzori mountain ranges as well as the surrounding communities. After the crater lakes walking experience, you will return to the lodge to refresh, thereafter proceed back to Kampala/ Entebbe international airport. End of Safari
