This interesting safari package will take you for a rewarding game viewing experience in Akagera national park looking out for the Big Five game as well as a variety of animals and bird species residing in the park.
You will thereafter visit Volcanoes National park, a home to the rare mountain Gorillas for the Gorilla tracking experience.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival and Transfer.
Upon arrival at Kigali International airport, you will meet our safari guide who will welcome you to the land of a thousand hills (Rwanda) and thereafter transfer you to Hotel ChezLando for an overnight stay (Bed and Breakfast basis).

Day 02: Kigali City Tour and Transfer To Akagera National Park.
After an early breakfast, begin your day with a guided city tour of Kigali, including visits to genocide memorial sites and local craft markets.
The city’s rich history and vibrant culture will add depth to your safari experience. In the afternoon, transfer to Akagera National Park for a scenic drive and the start of your wildlife adventure.
Upon arrival, settle in at Akagera Game Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 03: Game Drives and Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema
After breakfast, head out for a morning game drive in Akagera National Park, where you may encounter over 12 species of antelope and more than 525 bird species — including the rare shoebill stork and papyrus gonolek.
Keep an eye out for big game as well, such as lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, and elephants. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat cruise on Lake Ihema, offering stunning views and the chance to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of primates along the shoreline.
Return to Akagera Game Lodge in the evening to relax, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 04: Transfer To Volcanoes National Park, Evening Encounter With The Local Communities
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Volcanoes National Park — home to the rare and majestic mountain gorillas, and one of Rwanda’s most unforgettable wildlife destinations.
Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and take some time to relax. In the evening, enjoy a cultural excursion to the Iby’Iwachu traditional village, where you’ll engage with local communities and experience Rwandan heritage firsthand.
Accommodation will be at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 05: Gorilla Trekking Experience at Volcanoes National Park.
In the morning, after breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing before beginning your unforgettable gorilla tracking adventure.
Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, you’ll venture into the forest in search of a habituated gorilla family.
Once located, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to observe them up close, capturing photos and videos of these majestic creatures — a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Along the way, you may also spot other primates and a variety of bird species. After the trek, return to the lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night on a full board basis.

Day 06: Golden Monkeys Tracking and Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, you will set out for the Golden Monkey tracking experience in Volcanoes National Park — a rewarding and memorable adventure not to be missed.
As you hike through the forest, enjoy scenic landscapes and keep an eye out for various bird species and other wildlife, making it an excellent opportunity for nature photography.
After the trek, return to the lodge to freshen up and prepare for your transfer to Kigali in time for your outbound flight.
